Het tentoonstellingsproject van Tim Cierpiszewski (1978, DE) in OFF HOOK is gebaseerd op een van zijn boekwerken getiteld GO WITH THE FLOOOW, een verkenning van de modernistische werken van Piet Mondriaan. Voor dit boekwerk downloadde hij verschillende beelden uit het collectieve sociale beeldbewustzijn (het internet), die hij vervolgens remixte en samplede tot nieuwe geconstrueerde beelden.
Het werk van Tim Cierpiszewski is zowel een conceptueel onderzoek naar beeldproductie op het World Wide Web en het creëren van archieven, als een architectuur gerelateerd werk.
Al tijdens zijn studie aan de Kunstacademie van Düsseldorf en de Kunstacademie van Münster hield Tim Cierpiszewski zich intensief bezig met architectuur, ruimte, oppervlak, lijn en kader. Door gebruik te maken van verschillen, herhalingen, superposities en complexe patronen, creëert hij driedimensionale werken die reageren op beelden in de vorm van boeken. Uit deze complexe boekwerken ontstaan prints, paneelschilderijen en muurwerken, die op hun beurt weer verwijzen naar de ruimte die hij tot zijn beschikking heeft.
Naast talrijke solo- en groepstentoonstellingen in verschillende landen is hij ook betrokken geweest bij talloze projecten als curator. Voor deze tentoonstelling wordt er op initiatief van OFF HOOK een nieuwe zeefdruk in oplage van Tim Cierpiszewski vervaardigt in samenwerking met Zeefdruk Atelier Hogeland in Warffum.

Tim Cierpiszewski’s (1978, DE) exhibition project at OFF HOOK is based on one of his bookworks entitled GO WITH THE FLOOOW, an exploration of the modernist works of Piet Mondrian. For this bookwork, he downloaded various images from the collective social image consciousness (the Internet), which he then remixed and sampled into new constructed images.
Tim Cierpiszewski’s work is both a conceptual investigation into image production on the World Wide Web and the creation of archives, and an architecture-related work.
Already during his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and the Münster Art Academy, Tim Cierpiszewski was intensely concerned with architecture, space, surface, line and frame. Using differences, repetitions, superpositions and complex patterns, he creates three-dimensional works that respond to images in the form of books. From these complex book works emerge prints, panel paintings and wall works, which in turn refer to the space at his disposal.
In addition to numerous solo and groups exhibitions in various countries, Tim has also been involved in numerous projects as a curator.
For this exhibition, a new silkscreen print by Tim Cierpiszewski is being produced at the inititiative of OFF HOOK in collaboration with Zeefdruk Atelier Hogeland in Warffum.
